For co-parents
Two homes.
Both voices at bedtime.
Every other week, or 2-2-3, or weekends — the rota is the rota. Voicebooks lets the kids hear both of you at bedtime in whichever house they're in, without a shared login, a shared account, or a single conversation about it.
The rule
The house the kids are at hears every voice
A Stay is a link between two families. Your house is a family. Their house is a family. The kids have a profile in each. The stay carries your recordings to their house on the days the kids are there, and theirs to yours the same way — if they choose to share back.
No shared password. No account the other parent can see into. Each house keeps its own PIN, its own plan, its own grown-ups. The stay is a link, not a key, and either side can end it.

Setting it up
About four minutes, and no conversation required
-
Record for each child
Every recording asks who it's for. A book for Ava lives on Ava's shelf and travels with Ava. -
Make a stay
From the Family tab, pick the kids, choose the rhythm — every other week, 2-2-3, 2-2-5-5, alternate weekends — and say which week this is. -
Send the code
STAY-XXXX-XXXX, by text. The other house enters it at joinvoicebooks.com, makes their free family if they haven't already, and matches each child to their own profile. -
That's it
On the days the kids are there, your recordings are there. On the days they're home, only your house hears them. The calendar does the rest, in their time zone.
Designed for real arrangements
Any rhythm of whole weeks
One to six weeks, any shape. The presets fill a grid; the grid is yours to change.
Learn moreChoose whose voices travel
Everyone's, unless you say otherwise. A new partner who records later travels too, unless excluded.
Share back, or don't
The host house decides whether its recordings go home again. Either answer is fine.
No shared login, ever
Two families. Two PINs. The stay is the only thing in common, and either side can end it.
Grandparents on both sides
Everyone in either family records, free. Both sets of grandparents, both step-parents.
Learn moreYou still hear about the listen
"Ava listened to you read The Gruffalo" — even on a night she's at the other house.
We are not good at talking. This didn't need us to. I texted a code. Now our daughter hears both of us read every night, and nobody had to agree to anything.
